Here thanks to Claire Berlinski and TCG. She is a mine of amazing and insightful reporting and thought, and I am so grateful to her! Thank you for your work making sense and limiting credulity in an age of naivety and overwhelm.

Alongside this have been some things that genuinely are censorship, like pronoun policies. I am a big fan of labeling and annotation as alternatives to censorship; in general I think platforms should have as open and plentiful a set of means to label, annotate, and filter as possible; they help people sort through, based on their own values, data to build their own experience. And they can help protect truth as well, if done right. In areas where there is objective truth, it's probably best for platforms to gently cultivate that explicitly. In other areas, the concerns should be dramatically multipolar.
